Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

While many of you may be familiar with the St. Paul Golden Agers group, we want to take a few moments of your time to tell you what has transpired during 2016 and our tentative plans for 2017. First, just a little background on what our ministry is about. Our targeted age group is those 50 and over. We jokingly say that if you have been solicited by AARP for membership you are a Golden Ager. Our activities include luncheons, museum and art gallery tours, attending theatre performances and day trips.

During 2016 we had several luncheons, including one featuring Katie Cowan presenting the mission opportunities available to us at St. Paul. In addition, we toured the Yankee Air Museum, Detroit Institute of Arts and the Edsel and Eleanor Ford house.

For 2017 we are planning lunches. After all, what do we golden agers enjoy more than eating out? Also, we will be attending a performance of Oliver, visiting both the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village, in two separate outings. We will be having a Golden Agers catered banquet during June and a special Christmas luncheon. We also will be touring Historic Trinity at Christmas time and having lunch. Additionally, we will be leading the trip to the Michigan District 500th Anniversary celebration of the Reformation on October 15 at the Breslin Center in East Lansing. Transportation will be provided via a chartered motor coach.

We have many other things under consideration, of which many will likely spill over into 2018. Any suggestions for possible lunch locations or any other activities are always welcome.

If you have not yet attended any of our activities, please consider doing so. Also, if you have any ideas on how we might aid attendance at our gatherings, please let us know.
