Your Commitment to New Horizons Has Been Amazing

We are so blessed to have such strong support for this capital campaign. As was shared at our congregational meeting on December 19, we have achieved all of our goals for New Horizons. We’ve upgraded the CLC, completed the new kitchen, installed both the sign and the elevator. We’ve also retired the short-term debt remaining from the Generations to Come campaign.

Now we have an opportunity to continue to make this campus more ministry-ready. Our New Horizons campaign has raised more money than needed for the initial projects. At the annual meeting in December, the congregation approved the use of the remaining pledges to support a series of improvements.

These improvements are four-fold:

  • Refurbishing the steeple
  • Increasing security
  • Continuing to make improvements for worship
  • Upgrading the youth and family life spaces

The steeple is an icon for St. Paul. For 75 years, our steeple has been a sign to our community that we are the Great Commission congregation here in Trenton, serving all Downriver. But that steeple needs a thorough repair. Estimate: $40,000.

Security for our business entrance, which is also our preschool entrance, needs to be improved. For the preschool especially, parents want to know that their children are in the safest possible place. Adding a monitored and secure entrance will make it much easier to ensure the safety of our children and staff. Estimate: $7,500.

We have a few upgrades for our Worship Center. We need to upgrade our sight and sound there. We’ve not improved that equipment since 2004. Estimate: $17,500.

Finally, we want to make our campus inviting to youth and young families. We have a series of improvements to our gym, classrooms and atrium areas. This part is the largest and most significant set of improvements and reflects our commitments. Estimate: $135,000.

We won’t do any projects with debt. All of the projects will be done or not done based on the fulfillment of the pledges.
At St. Paul, the mission continues! By seeking to know Christ and making Christ known, we continue to open up our campus to sharing the love of Jesus with all. Thank you for your love of the mission and love of St. Paul!
